Refreshing Turmeric Lemonade Recipe
Like most people, I enjoy homemade lemonade on a hot summer’s day, and whenever I can, I add a twist to the traditional lemonade recipe.

A few summers ago, I attended an event hosted by a wellness brand, and among the foods and drinks we sampled was this delicious turmeric lemonade with ginger.
I never would have imagined that a drink as wonderful and refreshing as that could be made from turmeric, but there it was.
Of course, I asked for the recipe for this flavorful drink, but as expected, the recipe was secret.
All I knew was that the basic ingredients included turmeric, ginger, lemon, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper.
From that day, I promised myself that I would try to recreate that turmeric lemonade.
And so, here we are, nearly two years later, and with so many tests done in the kitchen, I have figured out the measurements for the ingredients and have now recreated the perfect turmeric lemonade recipe!

Research shows that a compound, called curcumin, which is found in turmeric, is known to significantly reduce inflammation in people with arthritis.
If you experience muscle soreness after an intense workout, a study found that curcumin may also help with managing post-exercise inflammation and muscle soreness.
That said, a glass of this turmeric lemonade may help speed up muscle recovery.

Turmeric is a well-known immunity-strengthening spice. It’s one of the main ingredients in cold and flu home remedies that actually work.

Ginger, as we may know, has many proven health benefits, and just like turmeric, ginger is also an anti-inflammatory. I’m just going to touch on a few of the health benefits of ginger.

Along with a calorie-controlled diet and regular exercise, ginger may help you shed pounds as it is an appetite suppressant that will leave you feeling full for longer.

What you will need to make turmeric lemonade
- A saucepan
- A fine mesh strainer
- Pitcher
Before you get started with this recipe, it’s important to note that turmeric does stain materials and surfaces quite a lot, so you have to be extra careful with it.
If your utensils or surfaces get stained during the process, you can get rid of turmeric stains with this homemade solution.
Simply mix one cup of water, with ½ cup of white vinegar, and a bit of dishwashing liquid. Soak the stained fabric or utensil for 20 minutes and wash it off.
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger, or 1 root fresh ginger
- 4 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- Juice of 4 lemons
- ½ cup honey
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 7 cups water
Method
Fill a saucepan with water and place on the stove. Add turmeric, cayenne and ginger in a saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat for 10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the stove and set aside to cool down.
Strain the mixture into a pitcher and add lemon juice, honey and apple cider vinegar.
Gently stir and place the pitcher in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Mix until smooth when ready to serve and enjoy.
